In the Nation’s Capitol, Washington, D.C., Rallo Boykins is poised to take the long tradition of great comedy — from Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Tommy Davidson, Wanda Sykes, and Thea Vidale and more — to the next level.
As an entertainer that writes, acts, sings, and performs stand-up comedy, Rallo is determined to put this stamp on D.C. Comedy and the comedy world at large.
Rallo was born and raised in Hyattsville, MD. Growing up, he was the class clown and, after graduating from high school, relocated to Washington, D.C. to attend the illustrious Howard University. In the summer of 2008, Rallo answered the dare of a close friend to put his comedic gift to practice by performing to Fourth of July dinner party. The laughter ensued and Rallo’s comedy career had officially begun. That December, Rallo was invited as the opening act at Howard University’s sold out Homecoming Comedy Show. His stellar performance was the feature story of Howard’s Hilltop newspaper and he received encouragement to continue on from the marguee acts: Corey Holcomb, Tony Roberts, Dominique, and Damon Williams.
Since then, Rallo has returned to perform at Howard University’s Homecoming Comedy Show in 2010 as well as D.C.’s former Riot Act Comedy Theater, LoL Comedy Club in Temple Hills, MD, New York Comedy Club, and Stand-Up New York Comedy Club. Rallo has opened for Bill Bellamy, from “Who’s Got Jokes,” Nickelodeon’s own Nick Cannon, Def Comedy Jam’s own Deray Davis & Sheryl Underwood, Eddie Bryant from “Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up,” as well as America’s only renowned African American female impressionist, Traymore Morrison.
We are very happy to say that Rallo will be headlining DC Comedy’s LYGO DC’s anniversary show on May 29, 2013.
